FORT MYERS, Fla. (September 21, 2010) – On Thursday, September 16, 2010, Betsy Allen, of Gaining Results, Inc. partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Lee County to kick off a Corporate Team-Building Initiative the two businesses have developed, using Habitat’s own employees. Through this partnership, corporate and non-profit businesses who take advantage of 1-2 day retreats will be rewarded with the satisfaction that comes from cleaning up a neighborhood, putting hard working families in homes, while at the same time teaching their employees valuable team-building skills.

At a home on Forest Knoll Court, Habitat employees cleaned out the trash, pulled up the linoleum and prepared the house for painting. After completion, the team enjoyed an interactive learning experience focused on understanding themselves and the others they work with better, facilitated by Betsy Allen. "You're building a community and your employees are getting to know each other better. They're celebrating their diversity instead of being frustrated by it," said Betsy Allen of Gaining Results, Inc. As a testament to how immediately applicable the training was, report has it that the new lessons were put into play the very next day.

The 2010-11 Leadership Lee County Class (24th class with over 1,000 graduates before them) came out on Saturday to culminate their own weekend retreat and paint the house inside (two coats) and outside. Betsy is the Volunteer Chair for Leadership Lee County.
