Florida Business Coach Betsy Allen serves as Volunteer Chairperson for Leadership Lee County
10/8/2010

Betsy Allen (center, in purple) attended "History and Environment Day" at the Barrier Islands, along with the Leadership Lee County Fall 2010 class, on October 8, 2010.   Betsy currently serves as the Volunteer Chairperson for Leadership Lee County.

Leadership Lee County is a unique 12-week intensive program that helps newcomers as well as long-term residents understand the dynamics of the Lee County community and its role in the region.  Through the support of the Chamber of Southwest Florida, participants are exposed to an overview of government, education, healthcare, the environment, the arts, media, community volunteerism and quality of life issues.  The Community Leadership course was developed in 1986 to strengthen and serve the community with an intensive interactive learning experience that focuses on the concepts of servant leadership. The goal of the program is to develop a core group of leaders who are willing to serve first and then lead; ultimately becoming community trustees who are willing to hold the community in trust for future generations.
